NDIS (self-managed or plan-managed)

Clients who have a current NDIS self-managed plan and some NDIS plan-managed plans can be seen at this service. Therapy and Assessments fees for NDIS clients will be in line with the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price limits 2021-2022. Please ensure that your plan covers “improved daily living” (for psychology services) with adequate funds to cover your appointments.

For self-managed clients, fees need to be paid in full within 48 hours of the invoice being sent, and then you will be able to claim this back with the NDIS. For plan-managed clients, we will ask for your NDIS number and your plan manager’s contact details for invoicing.

For families without NDIS funding:

This is a private clinic, and fees for services apply. The standard consultation fee is currently $165 per 50 min appointment.

However the following options can help you access partial rebates for fees.

Discount rates apply for Health Care Card holders.

Medicare

Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP)

* Note: This is not able to be used for assessment sessions, only therapy and consultation sessions.

Depending on the reason for referral, you may be able to seek a written referral to access rebates through a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or paediatrician (up to 20 sessions per calendar year). The doctor will need to review your progress after the 6th and 10th session, before writing a referral for more sessions. You will receive a reminder to return to the doctor for these reviews, however it is your responsibility to organise this and provide the required MHTP referral paperwork to continue further sessions.

Please ensure that the MHTP indicates:

  • How many sessions the GP is referring for,

  • Whether the referral is for the standard 10 sessions (valid for 12 months from referral date) or the extra COVID 10 sessions (valid until 31st December 2022).

Helping Children With Autism

Depending on the reason for referral, you may be able to seek a written referral for rebates under Helping Children With Autism Program from a paediatrician or psychiatrist (up to 4 allied health assessment sessions or 20 allied health treatment sessions)- this plan needs to be put in place before the child turns 13 y.o.

*** See Medicare Factsheet for Health Providers and Parents and information from MBS Online for more information.***

Please send though MHTP and HCWA referrals through to the secure email address: bbpsychology@protonmail.com

Private Health Insurance

Private Health Insurance rebates may be available depending on your level of cover. If you are eligible for a private rebate you will need to submit your invoice to your fund directly. Please note that you are not able to claim a Medicare rebate and a Private Health Insurance rebate for the same session.

Please contact the service for more information on fees and funding.
